A Tree - A Living Memory - A Lasting Reminder

On November 27th, 2007 the students of York College of Pennsylvania dedicated an Autumn Cherry Blossom tree to the lasting memory of Victoria. The tree along with a memorial plaque was officially dedicated by the students as part of the first annual "Last Call" event at the campus. Vicki's parents Bill, Kristi and bother Bill, along with Vicki's grandmother and friends from home joined the students as Pastor Tim Concannon of New Beginnings Church of Moorestown, NJ prayed a blessing over the new memorial.

This tree and plaque were a gift presented by the YCP students provided by funds they generated through personal donations. The tree which is located in a common courtyard area of the freshman dorms will provide a lasting memory of Victoria on campus and will hopefully generate questions about what happened and how can we avoid it happening again. The York College students have taken a personal interest in remembering Vicki, in remembering the person she was and keeping her spirit of alive on the YCP campus.

The Hickman family thanks the students for the generosity, passion and incredible commitment to making this happen. The tree and plaque will remain a constant source of inspiration and hope for us all. We genuinely love you guys and welcome you as part of Vicki's life, Vicki's memories and a big part of Vicki's family.
